NXT has emerged as a next-generation material with lightness, impact resistance, and durability that surpasses polycarbonate and acrylic.
NXT polymer is a material born from the U.S. Army's ultra-lightweight bulletproof protector development project, and SIMULA Inc, which was commissioned to develop it, partnered with Intercast Europe, a major high-performance lens manufacturer, after the contract with the Army ended. Intercast Europe, which succeeded in developing a material for sunglasses and shields that makes the most of the characteristics of "high-quality optical properties with little distortion or deterioration" and "durability yet extremely lightweight," is currently the only company in the world that has the manufacturing rights to NXT.
